» Ski in Whistler - Tips and travel advices
Whistler is situated in the west side of Canada, in British Columbia and has a population of about 10000 of people. The area is very good for winter sports being considered a real wonderland. Whistler and Blackcomb mountains have a total of 33 funiculars, 200 ski slopes, 34 km of ski field and the longest vertically down hill ski slope from North America. International flights arrive on Vancouver Airport, at about 120 km far from the resort. There are local buses for the transportation but it is better to rent a car in order to explore more from the area. If you are a beginner you could take lessons at Whistler Blackcomb Ski and Snowboard School in order to enjoy the slopes and avoid any accidents. In the evening you could rent a sleigh and take a tour around Green Lake. Whistler has the longest winter of North America and March is ideal for skiing due to the mild temperature and abundant snow. Conditions being excellent, the room for rent are quickly occupied, so due an early booking for 2013. The ski lovers can spend here two weeks but others consider that only five days is ideal.
